Stairwell-Focused Abodes

The House in Kamiosaki is Compact Yet Elegant

The House in Kamiosaki is a compact abode but one that does not feel overly tight on space. The design focuses around a central staircase section, which goes up through all three storeys of the house.

One of the great things about this house designed by Comma Design Office is the amount of light that still gets through from the outside. This is what helps to make the space look bigger than it actually is. The place is also accented with a lighter colored wood, and white is the primary color used for decorating. Overall everything is very minimalist and clean, with no clutter seen on any of the three levels. Moreover, the owners are able to move into the top sections of the house in the winter for extra warmth. Photo Credits: designboom, comma-design.org
