Convertible Patient Beds

The 'LOHAS' Hospital Beds Transform into a Wheelchair

Those in a hospital or assisted living home could benefit from the design of the 'LOHAS' hospital beds as a way to help ensure optimal comfort at all times.

Designed by Lirong Yang, the 'LOHAS' bed is a fully functioning hospital bed that is comfortable for patients and the elderly to sleep, rest or recover in.

When the patient wants to get some fresh air or leave the room, the 'LOHAS' bed has a portion of the side that transforms into a wheelchair. This can be converted by a single nurse, which is welcome news given that moving a patient from the bed to a traditional wheelchair traditionally takes the power of three.

The 'LOHAS' hospital beds identify how mobility can be increased for those receiving care to ensure optimal healing and mental wellness.
