Exclusive Private Island Estates

The inhabitants of these isolated homes on tiny islands own a little piece of heaven in the water. These homes on teeny islands may not be what first comes to mind when you think of private island ownership. Been-Seen put together this collection for our viewing pleasure and admit, there must be many more such dwellings.

The first photo is an island home in Lake Cocibolca, Nicaragua. It is part of ‘Las Isletas’ a grouping of 365 such tiny islands.

"Just Enough room" is a beautiful house on an island which is part of the ‘Thousand Islands’ archipelago located in the St. Lawrence River. The ‘Thousand Islands’ straddle both the United States and Canada with homes in each country.

Just off the shores of Rhode Island "Clingstone" literally looks as if it has grown out from the island rocks. The 23-room home is over 100 years old and was purchased by its present owner for $3,600.

"Eighteenmile Island" located on the Columbia River in Oregon is called "Chicken Charlie’s Island" by local residents. The island is in fact not eighteen miles long but just under 10 acres. It’s hard to see, but there is a three storey 1960’s wooden home nestled on the island.

"Towan Island" in Cornwall, England, was featured in the Beatles movie The Magical Mystery Tour. At one time Towan Island, "claimed to be the world’s smallest full-time inhabited island," according to Been-Seen.
