Elevated Seascape Dwellings

This Hilltop House is Built Atop a Stone Platform

Turato Architecture designed the 'Gumno House,' a gorgeous hilltop house located on Croatia's Krk Island. The home acquired its name because of its spot next to an existing "gumno," or stone plateau.

Because it's built on an incline, the Gumno House has access to beautiful views of both the sea and surrounding land. The architects decided to build on a stone platform that raises the home even higher, maximizing the views.

Inside, the home features a wine cellar that can also be used as a space for entertaining guests, a living room featuring floor-to-ceiling glazing and an elevated swimming pool that comes to a point. The interior of the home is divided into four separate wings.
