This Frieze Decorates a School for Chefs & Healthcare Workers

A beautiful, illuminated herb-inspired frieze decorates the premises of Centre de formation professionnelle Paul-Rousseau bâtiment Marcel-Proulx, a trade school geared toward training the restaurant chefs and healthcare workers of tomorrow. In order to match the purpose of the institution, the illuminated artwork depicts "herbs used in the kitchen to flavor foods and in traditional medicine to cure illness."

The herb-inspired frieze measures 25 feet in length and is composed of seven modules. It is edgelit by LED lights that are fixed on the base. Yvan Thériault and Valet de Coeur were responsible for the cabinetmaking of this project, while Jessyca Côté and Plastica worked on the Plexiglas and printing.


This frieze was one of the Top 100 finalists for the prestigious CODAaward. Public voting for the People's Choice Award is open from June 20th to June 30th.
