Protein-Heavy Convenience Menus

Mcdonald's is Testing a New Menu of Healthy Breakfast Bowls

Following the announcement of kale-infused lunch menu additions, McDonald's has announced it will begin testing healthy breakfast bowls at its southern California restaurants. The interesting but not entirely surprising choice will likely be expanded to a full-time menu item if it is well-received.

By experimenting with health-boosting ingredients, McDonald's has a chance to ingratiate itself to the discerning millennial market, and particularly the millennial female.

Thus far, two healthy breakfast bowls have been announced. The first is the Turkey Sausage Breakfast Bowl that includes egg whites, kale, spinach, bruschetta and cheese. The second dish is the Chorizo Breakfast Bowl, which features an egg and chorizo topped with pico de gallo and shredded cheese. Each will retail for $3.99 plus tax.
