Raw Minimal Home Extensions

This Extension in Haddington Park Features Exposed Brick and Raw Wood

Though this extension is designed to add modern feeling and space to a bungalow built in the 1940s in Glenageary's Haddington Park neighborhood, the architects behind the product opted to defer to legacy materials. The interior of the extension primarily features exposed red brick walls and a raw softwood roofing, making it look authentic and minimal in an appealing way.

One of the key design features of the Haddington Park extension is the space between the walls and the roof. The brick only extends about three-quarters of the way up toward the ceiling, leaving space for windows that circle the majority of the extension. That, in turn, allows for ample natural light, eliminating the potential for the raw materials that the designers used to create a dark and dreary living space.
