Green Roof Pool Houses

Wernerfield Designs a Rectangular Roof Garden with Native Plants

The talented architects at Wernerfield have built a naturally-inclined green roof pool house on a hilly landscape in northern Texas. Due to the inclination of the site, the studio considered a rectangular pavilion structure that opened up to the pool area.

Essentially, the PTXI Cabana entertains an industrial and geometrically sound design that stands out with its concrete and modern elements. However, the home also blends in well with the surrounding greenery, thanks to the building's extremely adaptable design and the skillful incorporation of a green roof terrace with "native plants that are visible from below [and above], including sage and yucca."

The green pool house is yet another architectural proof that the industry is moving toward more nature-incorporating and sustainable designs with a strong contemporary twist.
