Explosively Erratic Murals

Caitlin Masley's Graffiti Art Installation Combines 2D and 3D Elements

In her graffiti art installation project entitled 'Abandonment of the Solid,' artist Caitlin Masley presents an abstract work that combines sculptural pieces as well as wall paintings.

The golden graffiti backdrop of the installation is dynamically expressive with vigorous lines creating movement and sharp triangular shapes. In the foreground, various sculptural pieces act as an extension of the mural into the 3D space, occupying the ground as well as the air in front of the expansive design. The effect of this mixture of 2D and 3D makes it seem as though the artwork is exploding off of the walls.

The gold, bronze and black hues of Caitlin Masley's graffiti art installation adds a richness to the violently erratic art display.
