Gay Coffee Raises Awareness with Same-Sex Supportive Brews

Debuted at the Castro Street Fair in San Francisco on 2 October, Gay Coffee is a line of gay-themed coffee that features campy artwork on the front of the packaging with awareness-raising cultural and civil rights history facts on the back.

Combining a splash of history, humor and social justice, the hand roasted (by gays) fair trade, organic coffee blends include Weekend Pass, Second Date, Red Hanky Roast, Stone Butch Breakfast Blend and Good Morning Mary!

These same-sex supportive brews are the brainchild of lesbian Elbow Room Coffee owner Melissa Krueger, who was keen to market a product with the potential to make a difference.

The social cause element comes with one percent of the companies profits being donated to the National Lesbian Gay Bisexual Task Force which helps organize campaigns to defeat anti-LGBT legislation.

Gay Coffee is already receiving orders throughout the U.S. and from Canada, Iceland and several countries in Europe.
