Gallery-Style Patisseries

The À La Folie Pastry Shop Displays its Sweet Treats Like Works of Art

French pastries and cakes truly are works of art, pleasing at least four of the senses. Quite appropriately, Atelier Moderno optimized the environment for presenting and selling these decadent goods by creating a gallery-style patisserie.

A polished concrete floor is encompassed by a gray-painted brick wall to create a raw and minimalist environment for its beautiful features. In typical art gallery fashion, the exhibited items take up very little of the generous space inside the bakery. All of the macarons, Grands folies, pointes de tarte and choux are showcased in a single display case on one side of the room. Industrial compressors have been hidden in the basement below, enabling the refrigerated table to be designed as sleekly as possible. The experience of this gallery-style patisserie is complete with strategically placed spotlights and the wonderful wafting scent of the kitchen pouring in from the back of the store.
