Local Spanish architects Josemaria de Churtichaga and Cayetana de la Quadra-Salcedo designed the Four Seasons House. The dwelling was designed as a rural retreat and features wooden facades with a terrace and a chimney.
The house is located in the Northern region of Madrid on top of a sloped meadow that overlooks the woodlands below. "After 12 years of contemplation, we decided to build a tiny house there, a refuge, a piece of landscape as a frame, a small inhabited threshold with two views, east and west," says Churtichaga and Quadra-Salcedo.
The entire structure is designed around a yellow tone, which leaves the house with the ability to immerse itself into the surroundings and the changing seasons. The two-storey home is a human rendition of the meadows and streams.
