Ai Weiwei's 'Forever Bicycles' Installation is Illusive

'Forever Bicycles' is the latest installation by popular Chinese artist Ai Weiwei. His work has been featured all over the world, but this latest piece was presented at this year's Venice Architecture Biennale.

'Forever Bicycles' is essentially a sculpture that is made up of numerous interconnected bicycle frames. The frames were stacked together to create layers that form geometric shapes, which can truly take anyone on a trip -- with no hallucinogenics needed.

Constructed with over 1,179 stainless steel bikes, the installation is in homage to the mass bike manufacturer 'Forever' from Shanghai. The artist wanted to give onlookers and idea of just how much production goes on in China. It is currently on display in the riverside courtyard of the Palazzo Franchetti.
