The fictional photography of Didier Massard shows just how much photography can tell as story. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words. The only catch is that the viewer is often forced to fill in the gaps when it comes to these words. Yet this particular photographer makes that easy by creating fictional photography scenes are are full of whimsical imagination people can easily build off of.
Part of the Paris resident's exhibit titled Territories, which was shown at the Kopeikin Gallery in Los Angeles, California, the fictional photography appears to take cues from real places like China and India. Massard says, "There were many places in the world I wished to photograph and visit, and I realized that they wouldn’t be as I imagined them. The images I create reflect an idealized world which I try to make credible with the use of fakery."
