Eyewear Company Safilo Group Spa's Glasses Measure Brainwaves

Safilo Group SpA, an eyewear company that is known for making frames for Dior, Fendi and Hugo Boss, is now looking to establish itself as a producer of high-tech smart glasses.

At this year's CES 2017, the company plans to debut a pair of IoT glasses. Unlike the smart glasses that first came on the market, the spectacles will have no camera or display. The glasses however will be equipped to measure brainwaves and send this data to an accompanying app. The drive behind creating these glasses was to ultimately help people assess their moods, relax and meditate.

The high-tech glasses from Safilo Group SpA were developed with help from Toronto-based start-up InteraXon, which is known for its innovative Muse Headband.
