Shattered Floral Photography

Martin Klimas has Created a Gorgeous Set of Exploding Flower Petals

It seems impossible to think of a way to make, and capture, exploding flower petals because of their texture. With it being such a delicate, soft plant, it's unusual that there is anyway, other than manually, that they can break apart.

In his series entitled Rapid Bloom, photographer Martin Klimas has literally blown his subjects apart. In the past, he has made a similar style of work, but never with a focus that is so unusual.

His pictures are strangely beautiful. One would assume that looking at something blown apart would be horrifying, however, these photos evoke the opposite emotion. Each piece still looks delicate and beautiful, and each flower is still recognizable.

This series has shown that even exploding flower petals can still be beautiful, and that breaking items apart doesn't always lead to its aesthetic demise.
