Akran Fahmi Redesigns the Etch Restaurant in Hove

Interior designer Akran Fahmi updates the Etch restaurant located in Hove, East Sussex with a black and white interior palette which is purposefully done to reflect the minimal menu. The location was originally a bank and has been renovated and reopened as a restaurant.

Fahmi tells Dezeen, "We identified, and tried to achieve, three key principles in the design; refinement, texture, and locality. The balance in texture and tone is key to the guests' journey through every space in the restaurant and bar." The renovation kicked off by blending two ground-floor units together to create a united singular space that welcomes natural lighting from the five arched windows. The studio kept three original Victorian arched windows along the corner and added two modernized ones.
