Watery Interior Designs

RCR Arquitectes' Design for Enigma Restaurant is Inspired by Water

Enigma restaurant, a new project by restaurateur and chef Albert Adria, has a striking design that won't necessarily reflect the food served there. Though Adria is known for creative and flavorful dishes, Enigma's aesthetic is distinctly watery.

The new Barcelona restaurant was designed by RCR Arquitectes in collaboration with architect Pau Llimona. The team worked with Neolith sintered stone from Spanish company TheSize Surfaces to create the fluid effect. The material is used all over the restaurant, including the floors, walls, curved cabinetry, worktops, and bathroom interiors. Its watercolor-like pattern creates gradients that range from green to blue, with monochromatic grays and whites mixed in.

Enigma restaurant promises a unique dining experience for those who are invested in the culinary cutting edge.
