Its body is made from sand-cast aluminum with a hand-carved finish, giving the piece a textured metallic surface. Hidden magnetic sheets are built into the structure, allowing knives to sit parallel to the exterior without visible slots or hardware.
The holder is designed to accommodate multiple knife sizes while keeping the blades secured against the curved surface. Oil and waterproof protective layering is included in the construction to support everyday kitchen use. A physical prototype was produced using aluminum sand casting and an MDF pattern, moving the concept beyond rendering into a tested object. The final design keeps the knives exposed while maintaining a compact, decorative form.
