Multi-Cultural Projects in Dubai

Museum of Middle East Modern Art

Taking a break from ridiculously tall buildings, Dubai has unveiled the region's first Museum of Middle East Modern Art. The impressive project was launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Located in Dubai's Culture Village on the banks of Dubai Creek, the building is designed by Netherlands-based architectural firm UN Studio. The design brings together elements of the sea and Dubai's tradition of seafaring.

The Museum of Middle East Modern Art will feature an amphitheater for live performances and international cultural festivals, an exhibition hall and smaller museums displaying local and international art.

“The museum will be a manifestation of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid's strategic vision of making the UAE a hub of multi-cultural understanding. The museum will be a celebration of the region's artists and art,” said Shaikh Majid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.
