A home extension is usually completed with a primary focus on extending the space within, but this addition by dmvA architects puts a focus on the exterior by creating the new portion of the home with glass walls. 290 square feet in size, the addition is a sizeable extension to the already small home, which was only 566 square feet before the work.
Resident Rini van Beek uses the additional space to house her office where exquisite appointments make it something of a showcase when admired from the exterior. The existing portion of the structure on the addition side is quite steeply peaked and dmvA kept this silhouette in-tact when creating the new space, and worked with them to further make the extension a more organically feeling spot rather than out of place.
