Volkswagen Teaches Students in China to Create a DIY Air Filter

In order to address the huge pollution problem in China, Volkswagen sent a series of DIY air filter kits branded as 'Clean Air in a Box' to Chinese classrooms.

The simple system was made up of a fan and a filter, which was assembled to show how the air quality of the classroom could be improved within just a short period of time. As well as learning about some of the systems that Volkswagen implements in its vehicles, the kids took delight in coloring the cardboard boxes that the Clean Air in a Box came in.

The heavy amounts of pollution in Asia are not likely to be reversed in the next few decades, but this initiative shows that the bright minds of the next generation have the power to come up with a smart, sustainable solution to it.
