Oliver Treutlein and Davide Rizzo Design a Contemporary Carpet

There are diamond rugs and then there is the diamond rug designed by architect Davide Rizzo. Created in collaboration with renowned carpet factory Oliver Treutlein, it doesn't boast a typical diamond pattern. Much more futuristic and abstract, the diamonds come in to play as brass details that really livens up the aesthetic on the whole.

By mixing and matching materials in a unique way, the designer created a diamond rug that would appeal to contemporary individuals. The 26 brushed brass diamonds are laid in rectangular carpet that is made out of New Zealand wool. Overall, the design looks like a decorative piece of jewelry for the floor instead of something that is meant to be more practical.
