Quirky Cabinet Staircases

This Parisian Apartment Features a Cupboard Staircase

French architecture firm Schemaa optimized for space in a Parisian apartment by installing a cupboard staircase.

By doubling as a storage space, the wooden staircase frees up square footage, while also providing an interesting visual addition to the interior. Underneath the staircase you can find another rack of shelves, ensuring that the room stays clutter-free. In the event that even more space is required, the dining table can be dismantled and mounted on the wall.

The cupboards, which are a range of different heights, can also be easily disguised when the doors are shut, as they are the same width as the stair treads. Located in the living and dining area, the staircase features the same type of wood as the kitchen units, creating a unity throughout the entire apartment.
