Playful Residential Homes

Container Design's Home Features a Hammock of Netting and Chalkboards

Container Design built a residential home in Sukomo, Japan, with the intent of having it stand out from the more traditional homes that surround it. The family abode is as playful as possible, with features like a floor-to-ceiling chalkboard covering two portions of wall near the kitchen and a hammock-like section of netting that forms a loft over one of the home's hallways.

The netting is the most striking aspect of the home, showing that the family who lives there isn't afraid of a little fun, even inside. That netting can be accessed from the top floor of the home, through a glass door that separates it from the children's playroom. That playroom itself has built in brackets for another hammock, too.
