Sculptural Lighting Concepts

The Haberdashery Concept Reflector Aims to Illuminate City Streets

In an effort to bring light into shaded city streets, Haberdashery has released a new concept reflector that uses huge Helio Ray reflectors to redirect from above the skyline. Designed to be mounted on the tops of tall buildings, the sculptured lighting concept utilizes two large mounted discs that collect and reflect the natural rays of the sun. This concept came as designers at Haberdashery compared modern cities to light-deprived rainforest floors.

It's broken down in two main reflecting components, the heliostat and reflector. The heliostat is the first piece of the concept reflector and automatically tracks the sun and gathers it into a concentrated beam. This beam is then reflected off a custom-designed reflector that results in shafts of light down the side of a building.
Trend Themes
1. Sculptural Lighting - Designing lighting fixtures that function as both practical sources of light and artistic sculptures, creating visually stunning and functional spaces.
2. Helio Ray Reflectors - Using large mounted discs to collect and redirect natural sunlight, bringing ample lighting to shaded areas and reducing dependence on artificial lighting.
3. Heliostat Tracking - Developing automated systems that track the sun's movement and concentrate its rays, optimizing solar energy harvesting for illumination purposes.
Industry Implications
1. Architecture and Urban Design - Integrating sculptural lighting concepts into building structures and urban planning to enhance aesthetics and improve the lighting conditions of public spaces.
2. Renewable Energy - Exploring the application of helio ray reflectors and heliostat tracking technology in solar energy systems, enabling efficient and sustainable lighting solutions.
3. Interior Design and Decor - Incorporating sculptural lighting fixtures into interior spaces to create visually striking environments, merging artistry with functionality.
