EFFEKT and Velux Work Together to Create the Compass Model

Danish architecture studio EFFEKT works in collaboration with window manufacturer Velux to create a design tool dubbed the Compass model that helps architects build sustainably. It is a seven-point framework that is meant to help developers create streamlined forms of sustainability in their design process. The first project that used the model is Living Spaces Copenhagen, which is a low-carbon housing structure that was made with the UIA World Congress of Architects.

Velux explains that "The Compass provides an incremental approach to guide the building and development process. You'll be able to make more informed, sustainable design decisions from the start, with little cost and effort. The earlier these considerations are brought into the process, the greater the impact."
