'Cofufun' Near Kyoto is a Piece of Community-Serving Architecture

'Cofufun' is Set to Be a tremendous multi-functional public plaza near Kyoto and acts as an example of community-serving architecture. Design titans Nendo are undertaking this project, which is expected to be its largest to date. The public plaza will be comprised of "a stage, park, bike rental station, and jungle gym housed in a series of stepped saucers reassembling local topography."

The plaza's structures are characterized by its large white disc-shaped design, which were inspired by the tombs of the neighboring mountainous region, Nara Basin. The plaza will be complete with coffee shops, an information kiosk, an outdoor stage, a meeting space, a play area and a roof-topped trampoline.
