Archaeo, an architectural firm from New Mexico, created a color pop house in a desert adjacent to Santa Fe. The single-storey building is characterized by a red wall that cuts across it. The overall vibrancy of the colored exterior is what captures the attention of passersby and makes the color pop house exceptional with a distinct contemporary ambiance.
The architects from Archaeo left a portion of the site in its natural state, while other modern design elements "respond to the vernacular styles of New Mexico," as Dezeen describes. The red wall element on the facade successfully stands out in the shrubby, desert landscape of the site. By incorporating the overtly chromatic element to the home, Archaeo was able to create a dominant contrast between the natural surroundings and man-designed structures.
