Coffee-Infused Ales

This Craft Brewery Developed a Coffee Ale Made from Brazilian Beans

The German craft brewery Von Freude recently teamed up with the Hamburg-based roaster Balzac Coffee to develop a new Coffee Ale. With the rising popularity of cold brew, brands have begun to incorporate coffee into a wider variety of beverages. This new ale puts a coffee-inspired twist on beer for a boozy pick-me-up.

In order to produce the new Coffee Ale, Von Freude worked with producer Fazendas Dutra to source direct-trade Brazilian beans. The beans were then slow-roasted to enhance their fruity aromas. Finally, the beans were added to the beer during the primary fermentation stage to prepare a light-bodied ale with intense coffee aromas. In other words, the new Coffee Ale puts a boozy twist on traditional cold brew.
