Luxurious Greek Art Hotel

Classical Baby Grand Hotel Athens

I've dreamed of going to Greece my entire life; there's a magical lure to the Mediterranean I just can't describe. Planning trips (even if I won't actually be going in the near future) is half the fun, so when I discovered a luxurious art hotel, the Classical Baby Grand Hotel in Athens, I was more determined than ever to jet in the direction of the turquoise seas.

The Classical Baby Grand is situated in the heart of downtown Athens, so it's a cultural haven for tourists who want to explore the city. The pulse of the city is felt from the moment guests step outside the hotel doors, as it faces Kotzia Square right next to City Hall.

Wander through the lobby as you make your way out for a night on the town, and you'll see a garden-inspired lobby designed by Socratis Socratous. You won't find the reception there though; you'll have to go upstairs where two Mini Cooper convertibles (yes, cars) are used as check-in desks.

Inside the hotel, a whimsical décor brightens the interior of 76 rooms. The most fun are Graffiti rooms, each with its own unique appearance, the inspiration sought from popular cartoon characters. For example, Room 403 is Spider Man, with black and red furniture and white walls embellished with action poses.

Now imagine cobalt blue ceilings depicting a starry sky, the vibrant color dripping down the walls until the point where it is met with swirling clouds of shimmering gold paint. A crystal chandelier adds a hint of romance, and on top of the bed, ornamental glass butterflies adorn the crisp white sheets.

Wake up early the next morning and head to restaurant. Sip on your coffee as your eyes take in the aesthetically pleasing contrast between the sunny orange color of the restaurant and the vibrant blue of the Classical Spa Carita which can be seen from below through the glass floors.

Packing my bags won't take long. Anyone care to join me?
