The German producer Rügenwalder Mühle just announced the launch of a new faux meat product called Mühlen Chili Mett.
In an effort to bolster its plant-based offering, Rügenwalder Mühle is launching a meat-free version of its seasoned and minced raw pork product. The new plant-based mett is made from pea protein instead of pork, but features the same mild chili notes. In fact, the faux meat actually looks a lot like the brand's pork product, which makes it a good substitute for the real thing. As Steffen Zeller, CMO at Rügenwalder Mühle, explains, "Our Chili Mett is the perfect addition for all those who like a savory spread, but who would like to avoid meat in part or completely — and at the same time, like the perfect combination of hearty enjoyment and pleasant spiciness."
