Honeycomb Shelves

Chiaki Murata Creates the ‘Prol/Board' Shelving Units

METAPHYS and Chiaki Murata have designed this new shelving system called Prol/Board that looks like it came out of a bee's nest. The honeycomb-like design does not come with poles (as you have to buy them separately), but is covered with holes, so you can create you own multi-layered shelving system.

You can build them up or build them across, and the Prol/Board will bring honeycomb goodness to any room.

Implications - Homeowners are looking for furniture pieces that they can make reversible alterations to. This allows them to change up the look when they want to and easily revert back to the previous. Businesses should strive to give customers more value for their money because credit-crunched consumers are price sensitive and are looking for more value.
