The ground floor of the house is extended and transformed to improve the dining area and form more private living spaces for the client's teen children. The inverted-pitched roof nods to the 19th-century architecture of the area, which also nods to the project's name.

We wanted this concept of the butterfly not just at a large roof level, but in the way the bricks were set out, creating amazing shadows in the light and reinforcing the V or butterfly in elevation."
