Returning to its first official commission as a practice, Merrett Houmøller Architects updates this chic British townhouse to be brighter and have more space. The firm worked relentlessly to produce an atmosphere that included contemporary stylistic choices and allowed ample influx of light.
In order to create a viable dynamic between the outdoor and indoor spaces, Merrett Houmøller Architects chooses to include a rear extension to the British townhouse. The studio also made sure that the space is highlighted by creating a double-height interior. Merrett Houmøller Architects worked on the floor plan of the property to create a visual connection between the rooms in the British townhouse. A key consideration when doing so was to ensure the spaces still can provide a degree of privacy to the residents.
