Suspended Furniture Installations

Brian Goggin Created This Suspenseful Art Exhibitions

Brian Goggin, an American artist, finally completed his art project after 17 years. The extensive project is an art installation titled 'Defenestration' -- meaning "to throw out of a window." The installation was created on the exterior of the abandoned 'Hugo Hotel' and features different types of furniture suspended from the windows and roof of the building.

Do you remember those scenes in movies where a piano would fall from trying to be elevated into an apartment building? Well, this is 10 times scarier.
Since 1997, Goggin has hung "animated" furniture, like tables with "insect-like legs," chairs, lamps, grandfather clocks and even refrigerators from the building. Of course, they are fastened on safely, but they're peculiar enough to make onlookers avoid walking underneath them.

The abandoned hotel is set for demolition in September, so the artist is now selling the daredevil pieces.
