Marcela Cardenas Draws Body Parts Made of Flowers and Foliage

Columbia-based multidisciplinary artist Marcela Cardenas created this stunning series of botanical body part artworks. Each image is created to resemble a part of the body such as the heart, using strictly floral designs.

The illustrations are so well created that they look as though the artist used real flowers, leaves and grass. The artist elegantly blended plants and body parts to make a beautiful piece of art. While human organs are not necessarily the most glamorous subjects to illustrate, these images are simply beautiful.

All of the images are created using light colors to draw the botanical body organs, which are presented atop a light brown parchment paper-like background. This stylistic approach allows the collection to have a vintage aura about it.
