'BoKlok' Housing is Being Built by Skanska and Ingvar Kamprad

The 'BoKlok' affordable modular housing is coming to the UK thanks to Skanska and IKEA founder Ingvar Kamprad to offer citizens a new option for modern living.

A total of 162 affordable prefab homes will be constructed on Fulbeck Avenue in West Worthing, England to help enhance the housing presently available in the community. The local council will have control over 30% of the new homes to offset the cost of the land and provide social housing as required in the region.

Worthing Borough Council’s Executive Member for Customer Services Councillor Heather Mercer spoke on the new 'BoKlok' affordable modular housing development saying, "Providing good-quality affordable housing is a perennial problem across the south east but it is one that as a Council we will continue to find creative ways to address. This innovative proposal ticks so many boxes and would help us provide much-needed good-quality housing to hundreds of hard-working families. I look forward to seeing the plans progress in the coming months."
