The Bluetube Bar by Dose is a temporary structure constructed from simple low cost materials. The Portuguese studio of recent architecture graduates focuses on simple construction techniques to design a temporary outdoor bar.
The temporary structure is built in a 3-meter square area with a 5-meter height. It is constructed from plastic tubing and structured together with plastic clamps. Though this built environment employs simple building techniques as well as simple materials, its final result makes for a dynamic outdoor space.
The blue tubes are brightly colored and look amazing when back-lit. The tubes corrugated pattern and the plastic clamps' sharp edges give the structure a definable prickly texture. The repurposed materials modulate light in a night-time setting when illuminated from within the bar area making this temporary structure a memorable hotspot.
