Lux Row Debuts Blood Oath Pact 12 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Lux Row Distillers has announced the release of Blood Oath Pact 12 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey — the latest annual installment in its limited-edition series crafted by master distiller John Rempe.

The 2026 Blood Oath Pact 12 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey features a double finish in Montepulciano and Sangiovese wine casks. The blend combines three bourbon components, including a nine-year old ryed bourbon, a 12--year ryed bourbon, and a seven-year ryed bourbon that underwent sequential finishing in casks previously used for the two distinct Italian red wines — Montepulciano from Abruzzo and Sangiovese from Tuscany.

Bottled at 98.6 proof and presented in an embossed bottle with a burgundy label and a wooden display box, Lux Row Distillers has limited this release to 51,000 bottles total, with 17,000 three-bottle cases expected to reach retail in June.

Trend Themes

  1. Wine-finished Spirits — Aging bourbon in Montepulciano and Sangiovese casks creates novel flavor profiles that open pathways for hybrid-genre spirits blending wine terroir with whiskey structure.
  2. Premium Limited-edition Releases — Limiting production to defined bottle counts and annual drops cultivates collectible demand and supports premium pricing strategies tied to scarcity and provenance.
  3. Cross-regional Cask Sourcing — Sequential finishing in Italian wine barrels highlights opportunities for curated supply chains that pair specific regional cooperage and wine varietals with distilled spirits to differentiate taste and story.

Industry Implications

  1. Distilling and Spirits — Craft distillers and major producers can capitalize on consumer appetite for experimental finishes and provenance-driven labels to expand high-margin craft portfolios.
  2. Luxury Packaging and Gifting — Embellished bottles, wooden display boxes, and limited runs create premium presentation demand that intersects with luxury retail, subscription gifting, and experiential unboxing.
  3. Wine and Cooperage Services — Cooperages and wineries supplying spent wine casks can develop aftermarket programs and certification services to monetize barrel reuse and ensure consistent flavor transfer for spirit aging.
