BlinkingCity by Marcella Campa & Stefano Avesani is a colorful stencil collaboration.. This collage was implemented on several courtyard walls in the Xianyukou district in Beijing's core.
The idea for the project was inspired by the design of numerous Hutong neighborhoods in Bejing. This interesting and multicolored design brightens up dilapidated courtyard walls in unexpected places. The idea behind this project is that once a map is complete and finished then the city that it represents has already changed.
This collage looks at the insufficiency of maps with their continuous urban growth and adaptation. This map features an array of colors including purple, green, blue, orange, red and yellow.
