Son Studio Completed the Design of the Bangalow Road House

Local architecture firm Son Studio has completed the design of the Bangalow Road House. It is defined by a wall of timber louvre which nods to traditional wooden beach shacks. It is located in Byron Bay, Australia and it is named after a road that connects the town of Bangalow to Byron Bay. The home is comprised of three bedrooms for a family which takes over a compact corner site.

The director of Son Studio, Scott Jackson shared with Dezeen, "The client was aware of the significant challenges posed by the narrow 360-square-metre corner block, including its two street frontages, adjoining laneway and stringent height and side boundary constraints. They were interested in exploring how to challenge conventional building forms and notions of how a home should look and operate to achieve their programmatic goals on this compact site."
