While some people might like to think that the Balloon Chair was inspired by the beloved 2009 Disney movie 'Up,' it was in fact inspired by a French film from the early '50s, 'The Red Balloon.' Although made out of relatively heavy materials, leather and steel, the playful seat appears to levitate with the help of a bunch of matching helium-filled balloons. In reality, the Balloon Chair has been mounted onto the wall to create the fanciful effect.
