Water-Like Architecture

Bahadir Kul Architects Builds an Aquarium in Turkey

Bahadir Kul Architects has completed an aquarium in Turkey that takes inspiration from the element of water. As such the bottom half of the structure has a ripple-like aesthetic to reflect the contents that are inside the building.

Interestingly when guests enter, they first go through a passageway with a large number of fishtanks leading them through a tunnel. This way people are fully immersed in the aquarium experience right from the very beginning. Most of the bottom half of the building is lifted on pillars so that people can spend time here in the shade, and take in the peaceful views that accompany this aquarium. A water area has even been built outside to keep with this aquatic theme. Photo Credits: designboom, bahadirkul
