Nike Unveils the Third Kit for Atletico Madrid Recalling Retro Design

Nike continues to drop its third jersey design made for Atletico Madrid following its recent launch of the Barcelona kit of the season. Similar to the previous drop, the Atletico Madrid iteration references design languages of the 90s. This element is translated through the squared collar cut and Nike's iconic Futura logo.

Additionally, the kit boasts a light blue tonal palette with seven stars printed across the neckline to nod to the city's coat of arms. The collar and the sleeves are also adorned with weaving accents reading "Atleti" in dark blue. For Atletico, the 90s were an important era -- winning its first La Liga title in the span of 20 years. Atletico athlete Saúl Ñiguez explains, "everybody knows about the moments of success for our club during that era. The fans will enjoy this color being brought back. It’s nice to see how the design gives it that ’90s feel."
