The Aplomb Lamp by Paolo Lucidi and Luca Pevere is for the Tough Crowd

I have always considered concrete as fated to only a handful of roles, yet it appears anything is possible -- take the Aplomb lamp, for example. Who knew concrete could be so... illuminating? Italian designers Paolo Lucidi and Luca Pevere definitely knew.

Designed for lighting manufacturer Foscarini, the Aplomb lamp represents modern architecture through the visibility of concrete. According to Foscarini, the world of construction inspired its name as Aplomb is "a plumb-bob traditionally used by masons."
