With the rise of autonomous vehicles, it will be possible to simply order a car on-demand and have it drive directly to you -- while the Amber One isn't autonomous, it's taking the idea of shared cars to the streets. The fully electric vehicle will not be available to purchase. Rather, consumers can subscribe to the Amber One service for a weekly cost and then drive whichever Amber One vehicle is nearest to them.
In terms of performance, the electric vehicle is no slouch. It can travel 250 miles on a single charge, (more than enough range for city driving) it has a top speed of 93 miles per hour, and it can zip from 0 to 60 in just seven seconds.
The Amber One service, which will become openly available in Europe by 2018, may introduce some prototypes next year.
