Camera-Embedded Football Ads

This Ad Was Filmed by Cameras Embedded in a Brazuca World Cup Ball

Several scenes in this Adidas trailer were filmed by cameras embedded in the Brazuca World Cup ball, which will be the ball used in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The six-paneled Brazuca World Cup ball was impregnated with six cameras that captured 360-degree views of their surroundings, giving viewers the opportunity to experience football from the point of view of the most fundamental and central element of the sport—the ball.

Star players featured in the video and filmed by the Brazuca ball’s embedded cameras include Spain midfielder Xavi, Brazil wingback Daniel Alves and Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

The trailer is less than a minute long, possibly because seeing a video from the point of view of a ball that is bouncing, swerving and spinning is a slightly dizzying experience.
