300 Dutch Football Team Ads by Erwin Olaf

Super talented photographer Erwin Olaf was commissioned by AD newspaper to capture the Dutch football team for their Euro Championship special in an intense, visually captivating ‘300’ themed spread.

Olaf told players such as John Heitinga, Edwin van der Sar, Gio van Bronckhorst, and Rafael van der Vaart that they would be portrayed as sex objects, that there were sexual and erotic elements and that they would be completely covered in mud.

According to Olaf, they all but defender Joris Mathijsen agreed who didn’t want to be photographed semi-nude because, "he is very shy." Shy? C’mon, we see players take off their shirts in stadiums all the time.

You can feel the raw intensity and adrenaline seep through the images. Amazing photography!
