Fala Atelier Designs the 087 House in Lisbon

Porto-based design studio Fala Atelier is the mind behind the 087 House in Lisbon. The home is defined by its bold patterning of large spots and stripes with a marble facade detail. It has three stories and features a rectilinear facade that is accented with the aforementioned chunky marble shapes.

The studio is recognized for its talent for using geometric shapes and this is seen with the custom carpentry using local materials. Filipe Magalhães, partner at the firm spotlights the funnel-shaped extractor fan in the kitchen. Magalhães continues on the design notion, stating "We tried to diversify the material palette as much as possible while still making it quite banal. The choices are very Portuguese, but the mixture aims at being more than just that."
